U.S. Open 2022: Full Draws, Schedule, How to Watch, News, Analysis
Tennis’s fourth and final Grand Slam of the year kicks off in Queens, N.Y. on Monday, August 29, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament is undoubtedly highlighted by Serena Williams, after the 23-time champion announced that she would retire after the U.S. Open, an event she has a complicated history with.
But there are plenty of other names to keep an eye on, including Rafael Nadal—who will look to capture his 23rd Grand Slam title and second of this year, after he won his 14th French Open trophy earlier this summer—and defending champions Daniil Medvedev and Emma Raducanu, who both return to the site where they captured their first major titles. Rising young American Coco Gauff will look to build on her run to 2022 French Open final, while fellow American Naomi Osaka will return to action in New York, after she missed Wimbledon for the second straight year and continued to recover from an achilles injury.
